One of my favoure lodges in Botswana, not necessarily the most luxurious, is one of the very first safari camps in the country, Xakanaxa Camp (pronounced Ka-ka-na-ka). The owners have gone to extraordinary lengths to preserve its original African bush camp character whilst providing guests with every comfort.

Xakanaxa is a luxurious place but without the flat screen TV in the room. Its prime location on the banks of the Khwai River on the Xakanaxa Lagoon in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve is one of the finest places in this region. One is ensured to experience an authentic year round Okavango Delta land and water safari experience.
